Celebrate a Birthday with Butterflies and Bugs!

90-minute experience for 8 people*

8-Person Inclusive Package with listed activities included:

Each Additional Guest $20, up to 20 People.  

No charge to have additional people join your party at our outdoor reserved space.  Let us know when booking how we can make your event stress free and fun for all.

*Group must have adult supervision, 18yrs & over

Suggested for persons 4 and older.  Kids under 3 yrs attending require direct adult supervision.

When You Arrive

  • Meet at the reserved outdoor picnic area, behind Kettlewell’s Ice Cream Shop, a 10’-20’ space with two picnic tables will be waiting for you. You can decorate too!
  • Inform Kettlewell’s Staff you’ve arrived, they’ll need your party’s food order in advance to have it prepared and ready to serve when you are done touring. They also have space to store your cake if needed.
  • Once your group has gathered the indoor tour begins. Please have the group organizer lead the group inside the Zoo to get started.
  • Confirm group’s #s, and pay any remaining balance for the group’s experience.

Birthday with Butterflies & Bugs Package Includes:

Although the tour is self-guided, education staff will help your VIP Birthday person:

  • Release a butterfly—It’s their birthday too!  You’ll let a new butterfly into the Garden that has emerged earlier in the day and is ready for flight.**
  • Meet and greet a bug in the Zoo!  Visit with some of the largest arthropods in captivity.
  • After your 40-50 mins visiting the Zoo and Butterfly House, your group will head outside to your reserved space to enjoy Lunch by Kettewell’s Ice Cream Shop. This includes:
    • Hot Dog, Sloppy Joe or Uncrustable PB & J
    • Bag of chips (Fritos, Lays, Cheetos)
    • Bottle of water
    • Kid’s sized ice cream cone
  • Your event makes time for your group to play our bean bag toss game, Metamorpha-Toss on the lawn, and you bring the cake/party favors/gifts.

**Native Butterfly Releases are available, if you wish to add an outdoor, native butterfly release (Since the butterflies inside are federally protected and cannot be released outdoors).  Please ask us when booking your event! (Prices start at $95 and up)
